HTC Hero now available on Sprint

HTC Hero with Sprint

Europe may have already got over the buzz about the HTC Hero and have their eyes set on newer toys, but the USA is just receiving this little wonder, with Sprint. It is now officially available on their website and has a Flash page to prove it.

Some of the highlights that Sprint have opted to market include the 5.0MP camera, the Android Market and the home screen widgets. This is pretty much what we expected, and for good measure Sprint also through in there that the Hero is the first phone on the ‘Now Network’. We are sure all of you have at least heard about, perhaps seen or even used the Hero by now, but incase your not sure what we’re talking about, take a read over here.

Picked mine up the day it dropped at Best Buy. I’ve not seen any lag whatsoever. Coming from an iPhone 3GS (which I left my carrier of 5 years for [Sprint] which was an utter mistake because iPhone is a terrible cellular telephone), this phone does many things just as fast if not faster than iPhone. Don’t let anyone tell you different. Sending messages (IM, email, texts, video, picture) goes through in a snap. Loading web pages over the EVDO network is as fast if not faster than iPhone on HSDPA 3G on AT&T’s network. Some minor things scroll smoother on iPhone, but I could care less. Sprint’s CDMA Hero is just worlds better than iPhone. I’m utterly satisfied with my phone, and I don’t feel like a poser who shouldn’t have had a iPhone in the first place. I’m sticking with Sprint, and I hope HTC will make a HERO2 someday with a larger screen, a flash, different colors, minor tweaks to scrolling and multi-touch response, and that’s all I’d ever ask for. It’s pretty much perfect, which is more than what I could have said for my iPhone 3GS which I just sold for a silly high $400.

  3. I’m very glad to hear you’re satisfied with your (first?) Android device! :-D
